(China5e.com, Sept 4, 2006) China Power Investment Corporation announced on Sept. 1 that the company planned to close 70 small thermal electric machine units that generated 2.9825m kilowatts in total. The move will reduce coal consumption by 6.45m tons and sulfur dioxide emission by 136,000 tons.
