Chongqing coal companies’ illegal moves lead to frequent closure of power plants

(China5e.com, Sept 7, 2006) Sources from the Chongqing Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision disclosed on Aug. 31 that persistent drought and heat led to serious power shortage in Chongqing, however, some coal companies made illegal profits by supplying coals mixed with cement blocks and cobbles, which resulted in frequent closure or damage of power generation units.
