NDRC: China’s primary energy output reached 2.06b tons of standard coals last year

(People.com.cn, Sept 12, 2006) In 2005, China’s primary energy output reached 2.06b tons of standard coals, while the country consumed 2.22b tons of standard coals, which makes China the second largest energy consumption and production country with an energy self-supply rate of 93 per cent, said Deputy Director Zhang Baoguo of National Development and Reform Commission at the 7th China-US Oil and Gas Industry Forum held on Sept. 11, 2006.
