Electric power industry consumed over 50% of China’s coal output |

(China5e.com, Sept 12, 2006) China’s electric power industry consumed 1.1b tons of coal last year, accounting for over 50 per cent of China’s total coal consumption; the power sector consumed 535.47m tons of coals in the first six months of 2006, up 8.27 per cent on 2005, an official at the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) told First Chinese Business Daily.
