Shanghai Electric receives world’s biggest order for solar cells

(China5e.com, Sept 13, 2006) World’s biggest solar energy PV Power System commenced construction in Murcia, Spain in Sept. 2006. All solar cells to be fitted in the system will come from China. Shanghai Topsolar Green Energy Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, and Baoding Yingli, a subsidiary of G Tianwei, finally won the bid worth RMB2b to jointly provide 60 megawatts of solar cells for the project.
