Shanxi Coal & Coke Group Chairman’s bribery case covers officials at Ministry of Commerce

(China5e.com, Sept 14, 2006) Shanxi Province Coal and Coke Group Chairman Niu Xinmin and his son Niu Lianqing are charged with bribery and huge assets with unclear sources. The case was heard at the Suzhou People’s Court on Sept. 12 and 13, 2006.

Insiders disclose that officials covered in such cases always have something to do with selling quotas, and that the case not only covers officials inside the group but also that in the Ministry of Commerce.
