(ChinaCoalResource, Sept 18, 2006) Xishan Coal & Electricity Group (XSCEG) will spend 50 million yuan on the upgrade and reconstruction of Ximing Coal Mine in Taiyuan City, north China's Shanxi province, reported Shanxi Youth Daily Monday. Some 50.33 million yuan previously planned to invest in the Phase I project of Gujiao Power Plant will be used to upgrade the coal preparation system and techniques of Ximing Coal Mine, said the XSCEG, adding the withdrawal will not affect the construction of Gujiao Power Plant due to its reduced investment followed changes of construction site and cooperators and etc. The reconstruction of the coal preparation system in Ximing Coal Mine is aim to produce more high-quality coals to meet the stricter demand of coal users over environmental concerns. At present, the coal resources in Ximing Mine is mainly meagre coal with relatively high sulfur contents, since all the good quality, low-sulfur coal seams in the mine have been nearly mined out. The upgrade project will take 12 months, as estimated. Upon its completion, Ximing Mine will realize raw coal preparation of 2.10 million tons annually, and generate sales income of 540 million yuan or so. The some 50 million yuan of invested capital only takes up to 3.93% of the planned investment in Gujiao Power Plant, currently the largest environmentally-friendly mine-mouth power plant project in China. source:China Coal ResourcesChina energy coal |
