| S. China autonomous region records 24 pct growth in foreign trade |

(Xinhua, Sep 23, 2006)South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recorded 4.1 billion U.S. dollars from foreign trade in the first eight months of this year, with a year-on-year growth of 24.3 percent. According to the latest data provided by the regional statistical bureau, the total included 2.18 billion U.S. dollars in exports, up 19.8 percent, and 1.92 billion U.S. dollars in imports, up 29.8 percent. The trade surplus amounted to 265 million U.S. dollars. Sources with the local statistical bureau said 87.3 percent of the exports were industrial products.
