CNPC's procurement through Internet reaches RMB100b in five years

(Oilnews.com, Sept 29, 2006) As of late Aug. 2006, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)'s procurement through electronic transactions topped RMB100b, of which 25 per cent were conducted through the Internet. The oil giant plans to purchase RMB20b worthy of materials through the Internet in 2006. The method of batch purchase through Inter helped CNPC to save about RMB3.5b in the past five years.
