(Allafrica, Oct 24, 2005) NAMIBIA is to send a delegation to the first ever summit of the forum on China-Africa co-operation in Beijing, China, next month. Cabinet announced last week that the same delegation will also attend the Namibia-China Joint Commission on Economic and Trade issues scheduled to take place in the Chinese capital from November 6 to 7. Namibia's delegation to the first summit - on November 3 and 4 - will consist of representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, Finance, Mines and Energy, Works, Transport and Communication and the National Planning Commission. Cabinet said the summit, with the theme 'Friendship, Peace, Co-operation and Development', coincides with the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of diplomatic relations between China and African countries. It is expected to review co-operation between China and Africa over the past 50 years and discuss common goals for future co-operation. |
