(Sohu.com, Oct 26, 2006) On Oct. 25, 2006, Shanxi Province Governor Yu Youjun met with a delegation led by Liu Qiansong, CEO of Husky Energy Inc., a company owned by magnate Li Jiacheng. The two sides discussed issues like cooperation in developing coal-bed gas. In July 2006, Li Jiacheng met with Governor Yu, a move shows Li¡¯s great interest and confidence in making investment in Shanxi Province.

Having a reserve of about 10 trillion cubic metes of coal-bed gas, Shanxi Province plans to make an investment of RMB9b in the development of coal-bed gas, of which RMB1.27b will be made in building eight coal-bed gas power plants with total installed capacity of 189,000 kv.
