NDRC insists on setting high threshold for coal chemical industry |

(Oilnews.com, Oct 26, 2006) Chen Shihai, deputy director of Industry Department of National Development and Reform Commission, said on Oct. 24 that a new policy for the coal chemical industry would be promulgated by the end of 2006 or in early 2007, and that a threshold would still be set in the new policy to limit the number of coal chemical projects.
In July 2006, Industry Department of National Development and Reform Commission published the Notice on Strengthening Coal Chemical Project Construction and Promoting Healthy Development of the Industry. CTL projects with annual capacity below 3m tons, carbinol and dimethyl ether (DME) projects below 1m tons, and coal olefin ones below 600,000 tons will not be approved, according to the notice. source:Oilnews.com tag:China energy coal Drawn from Chinese language press |
