(Dzwww.com, Oct 29, 2006) China will adjust tariff rates of some imported and exported products beginning Nov. 1, 2006. The 3 to 6 per cent of import duties imposed on products like finished oils, coals and alumina will decrease to 0 to 3 per cent, and the export duties on products, including crude oils, coals and cokes, will increase by 5 per cent. Insiders hold that the adjustment of tariff rates indicates that the Chinese Government encourages import of resources and products with technological innovations, while curbs export of high-energy-consumption and high-pollution products. source:Dzwww.com Drawn from Chinese language press |
