China’s coal transportation capacity increases gradually

(Sohu.com, Oct 30, 2006) Statistics show that in the first three quarters of 2006, the 4.4 per cent of growth rate of China’s coal transportation through railways is far lower than the estimated 9 per cent of China’s natural economy, the 8.4 per cent of coal output, 8.7 per cent of coal dispatching at ports, and the estimated 13.5 per cent of the country’s total thermal power generation.

During the same period, China’s daily coal loading reached 46,586 railway wagons, up 2.4 per cent on 2005, reaching an accumulated loading of 826.87m tons, up 4.4 per cent. Coal dispatching at major ports reached 301.27m tons, up 8.7 per cnet.
