China's GDP to grow by 7.5% annually in next 5 years: govt

(AntaraNews, Oct 31, 2006) China's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by about 7.5 per cent annually in the next five years, said Ma Kai, Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Monday.

Ma told the World Industrial and Commercial Organizations Forum in Beijing that GDP would reach US$3.2 trillion under the current foreign exchange rate.

He said the macro-control policies had started to take effect this year, while the consumer price index (CPI) remained very low.
