Inner Mongolia launches 13 wind power projects this year

(Sohu.com, Oct 30, 2006) Inner Mongolia’s 13 new wind power projects, with 600,000 kv. of totaled installed capacity, were approved by relative government departments. The region also applies for the fourth-term chartered right of wind power projects with capacity of 800,000 kv.

Inner Mongolia has rich wind energy resources, with total reserve up to 1.05b kv., of which 300m can be technologically developed, accounting for 40 per cent of total in China.

The Dongshan wind power plant, with investment of RMB538m made by China Datang Corporation and 58 units of 850 kv. wind turbines, will put to operation by Nov. 30, 1006. The Zhurihe wind power plant, with RMB516m of investment, will begin to generate 180m kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually by the end of 2007, and the Baiyun Ebo wind power plant will commence power generation by the end of 2007, with annual capacity of 100m kilowatt-hours (kWh).
