(Coals.cc, Oct 31, 2006) On Oct. 30, 2006, Sichuan Province Coal Geology Bureau transferred the coal mining rights of Guanwen coal block, located at the Gushu and Junlian coal mine areas, to Sichuan Coal Group, the biggest state-owned coal company in the province.

Gan Daoming, vice-secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that the move helps enhance the exploitation level and industrial centralization of coal resources in the province, and that low level duplicated construction should be avoid in the development of coal and charcoal resources. The Sichuan Provincial Government demands the company to reach a coal output of 50m tons within ten years, accounting for over 70 per cent of total in the province.
