Shell and Shanghai in GTL road trial

(Xinhua, Nov 27, 2006) On Nov. 25, 2006, Shanghai Bus No. 1 Public Transport Company Limited launched a six-month road trial of Shell’s clean gas-to-liquids (GTL) fuel in the city. In the coming six months, four buses with standard Euro II engines will be fueled by GTL fuel. It is disclosed that another two buses with standard Euro III engines will be fueled with the clean fuel in the first half of 2007.

According to the agreement signed between Shanghai Clean Energy Research Institute and Industry Promotion Center and Shell, the two sides will cooperate in the fields of clean petrochemical fuels, renewable energies, communication on clean energy technologies and enhancing public awareness in development of clean energy and energy conservation, and Shell will provide funds and support in this regard.
