“Father of Solar Energy” sued |

(Sina.com, Nov 28, 2006) Mr. Xue Zuqing, expert of heat utilization of solar energy and founder of whole glass vacuum tube solar water heater, renowned as “Father of Solar Energy” and professor at Tsinghua University, is accused of embezzlement. Mr. Xue transferred a sum of RMB1m, received from Himin Solar Energy Group for share purchasing, to his private bank account, during his presidency at Tsinghua Solar Ltd. On Nov. 27, 2006, his case was heard at the People’s Court of Haidian District. Tsinghua University suggests the court to rule the case with lesser punishment as Mr. Xue has made great contribution to the company and has refunded all public funds being embezzled.
