(Sohu.com, Nov 28, 2006) Construction of Cixi wind power plant commenced recently, the first wind power project in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The project, with total investment of RMB500m, will install 33 units of wind turbines during initial project phase. A senior official at Resources and Energy Department of Ningbo Economic Commission disclosed that the first batch of ten wind turbines would commence power generation in the fourth quarter of 2006. The plant will generate 100m kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually, upon completing installation of all turbines in early 2008. It has a total installed capacity of 49,500 kv.
