(Bloomberg, Nov 30, 2006) NYSE Group Inc. plans to open an office in Beijing to convince more Chinese companies to list shares publicly on the New York Stock Exchange, China Daily reported today, citing Chief Executive John Thain. The exchange also wants to increase cooperation with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the report said, citing Thain. It didn't give a timeframe for when an NYSE office might be established in Beijing. Eighteen companies from China are currently listed on the New York Stock Exchange, China Daily reported. |
