Kazakhstan permits Rosneft’s oil export to China via Atasu-Alashankou pipeline

(Sina.com, Dec 7, 2006) Russian company Rosneft successfully persuaded Kazakhstan into permitting the Russian company to export oils to China through the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline. The Kazakh Government has allowed Russia to take advantage of 60 per cent of capacity of the oil pipelines to transport six million tons of oils to China. The Russian oil giant also plans to export to one million tons of oils to China via the Omsk to Pavlo Darfur pipelines and the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline beginning in 2007.
