(Coals.cc, Dec 30, 2006) In 2007 Shanxi Province’s newly increased coal resources will reach no more than 20 million metric tons; therefore, coal cost is expected to reach RMB70 to RMB80 per ton due to a series of policy factors, according to the trans-provincial video conference on 2007 coal production and transportation convergence held on Dec. 28, 2006. In 2006 Shanxi Province is expected to produce up to 570 million metric tons of coals, an increase of 10 million tons over the same period of 2005, and its sales revenue will reach around 190 billion yuan, up 10 per cent on 2005, generating 16.9 billion yuan of profits, an increase of 1 billion yuan. The Coalchar Industry Bureau of Shanxi Province forecasts that in 2007 China will see balanced coal supply and demand, despite some contradictions between coal production and transportation in some regions and peak times. Wang Shouzhen, director of Coalchar Industry Bureau of Shanxi Province, pointed out that Shanxi Province will close all coal mines that are listed among the 16 types of coals mines due to influence to security of state-owned large coal mines. |
