| Luheng Energy Group invests RMB7b to build Jiangsu coal chemical base |

(Coals.cc, Dec 29, 2006) A corner stone was laid for a coal chemical project in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. The Hong Kong-based Luheng Energy Group made 6.92 million yuan of investment in the project. As China’s first liquid-phase methanol project, it has a designed annual output capacity of 1.5 million metric tons. Construction of the project will be completed within three years, and the project will form an annual liquid methanol production capacity of 1.5 million metric tons in the coming five years. Jiangsu Province’s Pei County has 2.4 billion metric tons of proven coal reserves. The Jiangsu-Shandong-Henan coal chemical industrial zone will produce 8 million metric tons of methanol and 1 million metric tons of fertilizer annually. Besides, the Xuzhou Municipal Economic Commission plans to build the Xuzhou coal chemical industry base for Luheng Energy Group to produce methanol and coal olefin there. |
