Shanxi Province’s coal export drops significantly

(Cwestc.com, Dec 30, 2006) China abolished export tax rebates on coals in September 2006, while started to levy 5 per cent of export duty on coals beginning Nov. 1, 2006. The policy changes immediately take effort in Shanxi Province.

In the first eleven months of 2006, China exported 5.054 million metric tons of coals, down 32. 9 per cent on 2005, in total amount of US$326 million yuan, down 27.85 per cent, according to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
