(Coals.cc, Dec 31, 2006) Li Yizhong, minister of the State Administration of Work Safety, reiterated on 30 December 2006 the importance of coal mine security and further doing a good job in improvement and closure of coal mines for the year 2007. Besides, he noted that the range of coal mines to be closed will expand from illegal coal mines or those failing to meet security production conditions to 16 types of coal mines that are not in compliance with the national policies for the coal industry, or those have unreasonable layout, or cause pollution to environment.
