My now I'm sure that the word has spread and most people in the industry have heard about the passing of Dennis Mize. There is no need here for me to talk about his enormous talent or his legacy to the miniatures world – there is nothing that I can say that his work doesn't already make abundantly clear. We have lost one of our greatest talents, enough said...

 

Dennis was much more than just a great sculptor. He was a man of great whit and intelligence. A great artist and cartoonist, and an endlessly amusing person to game with. Although various obligations on my time have curtailed my gaming in recent years, many of my fondest memories are of sitting up well into the night, laughing till in hurt, gaming with Dennis.

 

Even more than that, he was an elder member of the family that we call Iron Wind. Not the company, the group that the company was named for. A loose gathering of family and friends who make up our private medieval recreation group called Clan Iron Wind. We have been gathering to fight, party, drum and dance around bonfires, and generally act like big kids for almost two decades. In that time, we've seen marriages and divorces, great times and terrible tragedies, births and deaths. We had seen three members pass on – and now it's four. In the days to come, we'll gather and send him off properly, but for now... Rest in piece our brother – you are loved, honored, and remembered...
